Leading the field in power efficiency, the new LUXEON® K2 LEDs from Philips Lumileds™ Lighting deliver 30% more light than other 3W LEDs. Developers can simultaneously improve their application's light output while saving space and cost.

White LUXEON® K2 LEDs provide up to 140 lumens of light output. In addition, they feature industry leading maximum junction temperatures, enabling engineers to deliver more light in their applications without making alterations to the existing thermal management. Alternatively, developers can reduce the heat sink requirements, lowering the cost of the thermal design.

LUXEON® K2 LEDs also offer the industry's highest allowable drive current in combination with a very low thermal resistance. As a result, the parts further reduce the cost per lumen by allowing more light to be delivered from the same package.

Other capabilities include new alignment features and datum reference points that facilitate precision assembly in applications where positioning tolerance is critical, such as in automotive.
