Color Management Controller with Integrated RGB Photo Sensor
 |
 |
The ADJD-J823 is the smallest color management controller with integrated photo sensor in the market. This chip
enables color management by maintaining the color point across the life time of LCD backlight, flexibility of color on demand for user, panel to
panel consistency and tunable white point. |
The ADJD-J823 is a CMOS mixed-signal IC with integrated RGB photo sensors designed to be the optical feedback device of an RGB
LED-based backlighting system. A typical system consists of an array of red, green and blue (RGB) LEDs, LED drivers and the ADJD-J823.
The device samples the light output from the RGB LED array, processes the color information and adjusts the light output from the RGB
LEDs until the target color is achieved. To achieve this, the device integrates an RGB photo sensor array, an analog-to-digital converter
front-end, a color data processing logic core and a high-resolution 12-bit PWM output generator.
An LED solution that is environmentally friendly compared to the CCFL solution, no mercury and Pb free.
| Features and Benefits |
- Integration and Size 5mm x 5mm x 1mm leadless 20 pin QFN package - saves space on PC board and works well for small handheld applications
- Variable sampling rate - the flexibility to drive the sensor, and helps to save power
- Automatic Sweet Spot Selection - the controller does it automatically
- Operating voltage: 2.5V to 3.6V - power savings, longer battery life for handheld devices
