Available in either an 8-pin DIP or SO-8 style respectively, the ACPL-772L or ACPL-072L optocouplers utilize the latest CMOS IC technology to achieve outstanding speed performance of minimum 25MBd data rate and 6ns maximum pulse width distortion.

Basic building blocks of this family of products are a CMOS LED driver IC, a high speed LED and a CMOS detector IC. A CMOS logic input signal controls the LED driver IC, which supplies current to the LED. The detector IC incorporates an integrated photodiode, a high speed transimpedance amplifier and a voltage comparator with an output driver.

ACPL-072L is the fastest (25MBd) 3.3V optocoupler in the industry with both 3.3V and 5V power supply compatibility. It is built with an internal level shifter that automatically senses the power supply rating and allows different supply voltages at both input and output. It supports a wide temperature range of -40°C to +105°C with excellent speed performance of maximum 6ns pulse width distortion (PWD), maximum 40ns propagation delay. It is built with a buffer that accepts voltage input and transmits voltage output that is compatible with CMOS/TTL logic. It is certificated with reinforced insulation with minimum 3.75kV isolation voltage protection.

Avago’s ACPL-772L is the industry’s fastest, dual supply voltage (3.3V and 5V) optocoupler in a DIP-8 package. It operates at a minimum speed of 25Mbd at a wide temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, provides creepage and clearance of greater than 7mm and offers a low pulse width distortion of 6ns maximum that helps to maintain high data integrity over longer distances. The device exhibits a high common mode rejection of 10kV/ms minimum, with 40ns maximum propagation delay and 20ns maximum propagation delay skew.

Certified of both reinforced insulation with failsafe mode and 3.75kVrms high isolation voltage Reinforced insulation provides protection from electric shock and also failsafe design with user’s accessibility.

Failsafe mode: a mode of system termination that automatically leaves system processes and components in a secure state when a failure occurs or is detected in the system.
