The BeeKit provides customers an exceptional design experience by providing a simplified software development tool and a methodology for fast implementation of Freescale’s ZigBee technology solutions. |
The BeeKit is a configuration environment for
Freescale’s wireless connectivity platform that
includes the Simple MAC (SMAC), IEEE® 802.15.4
and full function ZigBee wireless communications.
The BeeKit includes a code base of supported
wireless communication protocols and sample
applications, a solution validation tool and export
functionality. The BeeKit will support the ZigBee
Alliance’s newest Home Automation Profile. The
version will also include the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC
with MyWirelessApp and MyStartNetworkDemo
applications, together with the SMAC and SMAC
application examples. As the ZigBee Alliance
offers additional stack solutions, such as the
Pro Stack, Freescale’s BeeKit will support these
stacks as well.
BeeStack is Freescale’s ZigBee-compliant
wireless networking stack.
The upper level protocol stack features
include routing capability, network formation,
network session, and maintenance as
defined in the ZigBee Alliance specification.

ZigBee™ Markets and Applications
The Beekit software may be downloaded from www.freescale.com/zigbee. The development software will also be included in ZigBee hardware development tool kits. The 90-day evaluation copy of BeeStack will be made complimentary; however, the standard version and the floating version of BeeStack have to be purchased, licensed software.

CodeWarrior IDE
The BeeKit is a complementary development tool to Freescale’s HCS08 version of CodeWarrior IDE. The BeeKit project file is created in XML. BeeKit will allow export of files to CodeWarrior for HCS08 or other MCU compilers. The initial version of BeeKit will support the Freescale CodeWarrior for HCS08 only. Within CodeWarrior customers can pursue their application design. BeeKit also allows importing of XML files to modify the wireless network parameters or Freescale ZigBee technology device selection. BeeKit also flags parameter conflicts so that designers may update the design files based on the messages provided.
