No external components means zero design time for LED-based camera Flash applications.


The SP7618 is the industry’s first dynamically programmable LED driver capable of driving next generation low forward voltage LEDs up to 1A for Flash and other applications. This device simplifies the design of multi-mode LED lighting when used for mobile phone camera flash, torch mode and red eye reduction flash applications.

The SP7618 allows for on-the-fly dynamic programming of the LED drive current from 33mA to 1A. Low dropout voltage gives the ability to drive the LED directly from a single cell Li-Ion or three alkaline batteries in series without the additional cost of a boost regulator. Other LED lighting applications may also benefit from the ability to dynamically change current level and PWM width at the same time.
