Class AB Audio Amplifiers
|
NXP Semiconductors offers a 3W Mono Class AB, BTL audio amplifier for portable applications. The SA58631 is a single-channel audio amplifier that provides output power of 3W with an 8Ω load using a 9V supply. Housed in an HVSON8 package with an exposed die-attach paddle, it delivers excellent thermal resistance and increased power dissipation. |
For dual-channel requirements, NXP offers a
2.2W Class AB, BTL audio amplifier for portable
applications—the SA58632. The device is housed
in a 20-pin HVQFN package with a body size of
only 6 x 5mm and a lead pitch of only 0.85mm.
The package has an exposed die-attach paddle,
reducing junction-to-ambient thermal resistance
and increasing power dissipation.
Both devices support operating systems that
run between 2 and 18V.
FEATURES

SA58631 - 3W BTL Audio Amplifier
The SA58631 is a one channel audio amplifier in an HVSON8 package. It provides power output of 3W with an 8Ω load at 9V supply. The internal circuit is comprised of a BTL (Bridge Tied Load) amplifier with a complementary PNP-NPN output stage and standby/mute logic. The SA58631 is housed in an 8-pin HVSON package which has an exposed die attach paddle enabling reduced thermal resistance and increased power dissipation.
FEATURES
 |
- Low junction-to-ambient thermal resistance using exposed die attach paddle
- Gain can be fixed with external resistors from 6dB to 30dB
- Standby mode controlled by CMOS-compatible levels
- Low standby current < 10uA
- No switch-on/switch-off plops
- High power supply ripple rejection: 50dB minimum
- Electro Static Discharge (ESD) protection
- Output short circuit to ground protection
- Thermal shutdown protection
