Power SMD LED in PLCC-4 Package

The VLMW32 white LED is an advanced product in terms of heat dissipation. The lead frame profile of this PLCC-4 SMD package is optimized to reduce the thermal resistance. This allows higher drive current and doubles the light output compared to Vishay’s high intensity SMD LED in PLCC-2 standard package.

Power SMD LED CLCC-6

The VLMW61 is one of the most robust and light efficient LEDs in the market. Its ceramic package makes it the ideal light source in applications of high thermal considerations, allowing the additional current drive for a maximum light output while maintaining a high service life of up to 50K hours. The reflector inside this package is filled with a mixture of silicone* and TAG phosphor. The TAG phosphor converts the blue emission partially to yellow, which mixes the remaining blue to white.

* In the printed version of this article, the mixture was incorrectly stated as epoxy and TAG phosphor.
