SiTime Corporation has developed a revolutionary
and award winning SiRes™ MEMS resonator utilizing
the proprietary MEMS First™ and EpiSeal™
process technologies. At the heart of every SiTime
product lies the SiRes™ silicon resonator and a
highly flexible CMOS integrated circuit, which result
in an oscillator with improved performance
and reliability, smaller size and lower cost.
SiTime offers a complete robust timing solution
that minimizes board space and eliminates the
need for external components. The SiT8002 and
SiT1 product families are packaged in standard
plastic QFN-type IC packages with footprints that
match common quartz surface mount devices. In
addition, the oscillators have a greater tolerance
to shock, vibration and thermal events and are
immune to PCB interference. All SiTime products
have outstanding typical frequency stability
of ±30ppm over the industrial temperature range
and typical aging of ±0.1ppm/year.
The SiT1 oscillator family is a fixed frequency oscillator
available in 173 common frequencies, for
the lowest cost in high volume. The SiT8002 programmable
oscillator allows for fast turn rapid prototypes
and can be programmed to any frequency
between 1MHz–125MHz to meet your specific application
requirements.
The MEMS First™ and EpiSeal™ design and fabrication
system enables SiTime to leverage the
well established high volume semiconductor processes
and infrastructure. SiTime has successfully
adapted this technique to an 8 inch (200mm)
CMOS wafer which provides tremendous cost
advantages afforded by integrated circuit production
technologies. These IC processes result in lot
size 25X greater than quartz. All SiTime products
are lower cost, always in stock, extremely reliable
and have excellent frequency stability and aging
performance.
