Dew Sensors - DPS Series
Figure 1 shows the typical functional performance
of a DPS sensor in a typical application test circuit.
In the circuit, the capacitance of the sensor is
transferred into a frequency signal, which is temperature
independent. The circuit uses the characteristic
difference in electronic behavior between
the two states “no dew” and “dew” on the sensor’s
surface. For relative humidity values below 98%,
the frequency level is around 80kHz. As soon as the
sensor’s surface is bedewed, the frequency signal
drops to a level below 1kHz.
