Infineon leverages many technologies to create
these innovations, for example our OptiMOS-T
(Trench Technology) family of trench N- and P-channel
MOSFETs and Smart Power Technologies
featuring monolithic analog, digital and power.
These motor drives solutions are suited for all kinds
of motor applications from 100mA up to 100A with
different feature sets “scaled to your needs.”
Discrete Motor Drive Solutions
Infineon’s gate driver ICs, combined with our broad
portfolio of low voltage N- and P-channel MOSFETs,
can serve as basic building blocks for uni-polar,
H-bridge and 3-phase motor solutions up to 180A.
MOSFETs
Our low voltage MOSFET technologies offer best-in-class
performance and set the standard for quality
and reliability. These new MOSFET technologies are
optimized for RDS(on), gate charge and robustness to
provide the best possible balance of reliability, price
and performance. Robust and green OptiMOS and
OptiMOS-T devices can sustain up to 260°C peak
reflow temperatures according to the JEDEC-STD-20B
profile and still pass full AEC Q101 qualification.
This extended testing, coupled with our “No-Compromise”
Zero-Defect manufacturing approach,
means developing a holistic solution that enables
us to prevent failures instead of correcting them.
Finding the basic principle that inherently guarantees
the highest reliability is our goal.
The 40V OptiMOS-T family includes a 1.6mΩ,
180A D2Pak and a 3.8mΩ, 90A DPak. The 40V
technology is well suited for 2- and 3-phase AC
motor control applications. Infineon’s POWERBOND™
wire bond technology allows up to four,
double-stitch 500µm wirebonds in a single MOSFET,
which permits a 180A current rating in a
TO-263 7-lead package.
The 100V OptiMOS-T family includes a 5mΩ,
120A D2PAK to provide low RDS(on) MOSFET for
camless-engine, voltage boosted systems and
direct fuel injection.
The 30V OptiMOS-T2 family includes a 2mΩ,
90A DPak which can be used for reverse battery
protection and bridge topologies.
Integrated High Power DC Motor Drivers
Scalable and flexible solutions with different functional
options for all kind of motor drives from 2A
DC up to 70A peak currents.
• NovalithIC™
The NovalithIC™ is a fully integrated high current
half-bridge for motor drive applications. It
contains one P-channel high-side MOSFET, one
N-channel low-side MOSFET and an integrated
driver IC in one package. This family of devices
offers cost optimized solutions for protected high
current PWM motor drives with very low board
space consumption - scaled to your needs. It can
be combined with additional
NovalithIC™ to create an Hbridge
or 3-phase bridges
as well. Current sense is optionally
available to monitor
load current.
• Trilith IC
Trilith IC integrated H-bridges are perfectly designed
to drive DC motors up to 8A. Innovative technologies
are making the Trilith ICs more relevant in high current
applications and they are increasingly replacing
relays on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
