The Low Cost SAA7115A Offers Multi-Standard Video Decoding with Super-Adaptive Comb Filtering and VBI Data Read-Back Via I2C-Bus
When a video application demands high
quality decoding and robust data processing,
look to the SAA7115A video decoder from
NXP Semiconductors.
This device accepts CVBS or S-Video (Y+C) analog
inputs from TV and VCR sources, including weak
and distorted signals. The expansion port (X-port)
for digital video (bidirectional half duplex, D1-compatible)
can be used to output video using
8-bit or 10-bit-dithered resolution.
A secondary port (I-port) supports 8/16-bit-wide
output data with auxiliary reference data for
interfacing to VGA controllers, set-top boxes, and
so on.
The SAA7115A is designed with service
providers in mind. It complies with Macrovision’s
Copy Protection Detect Specification Revision 1
and is well suited for video surveillance systems
requiring ultra-fast frame switching.
