SAW Filters Enhance Performance of Wireless Security Systems

State-of-the-art wireless security systems require a reliable two-way communication system to be effective. The RF front-end section of these systems must have excellent sensitivity while at the same time they must remain immune to any interference from other RF applications.

This critical function of assuring accurate and reliable wireless data transmission in wireless security applications is best achieved through the use of SAW filters.

LC filters are often promoted as a lower cost alternative to SAW filters. It would however, take many components to design an LC filter with sensitivity and selectivity similar to that of a SAW filter, especially at the Cell and ISM bands. All these LC components would be individually affected by changes in temperature, and insertion loss would increase dramatically.

As a result of superior performance, competitive price offerings and simplicity in design the use of SAW filters has become the preferred solution for two-way wireless security systems.
