Micrel Powers Up Newest Family of Single Supply LDOs with Input Voltages as Low as 1.65V

Micrel now offers the MIC6910x/15x/30x, a new family of very low voltage linear regulators. These devices are part of a new high current, LDO family operating from a single input voltage supply as low as 1.65V. Designed to operate at very low input and out voltages, this family of LDOs is aimed at the industrial, medical, communications, computing and consumer markets. The typical solutions targeted include servers/routers, computing peripherals, LCD/Plasma TV and industrial/medical point-of-load applications.

The ICs address an industry wide trend to move to lower voltage rails. The family is available in 3A output (MIC69301/2), a 1.5A output (MIC69151/3) and a 1A output (MIC69101/3). By offering differing current levels, mixed with a range of packages, these LDOs are suitable for a wide variety of applications. All of these products have a single supply operation from 5.5V down to 1.65V with a ±1% initial accuracy. These parts are very robust and offer protection features such as thermal shutdown and current limit as well as featuring excellent line and load regulation.

The MIC69xx family is very similar to the MIC68200/400 except it doesn't include features such as sequencing and tracking.
