Vishay's new PowerBridge™ rectifiers are enhanced high current density bridge products with current ratings of 10A to 25A and 600V to 1000V VRRM performance. When compared to larger size bridge rectifiers on the market, the devices feature low thermal performance, which mean that they transfer heat more effectively, reducing the need for larger size heat sinks to achieve the same power rating.

The rectifiers feature an ideal bridge package choice for AC-to-DC rectification in switchmode power supply and adapters, home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, induction cookers and AV systems.

For OEM vendors, the new devices allow the same PCB layout to be used for a wide range of bridge rectifier voltage and current ratings.

 

FEATURES
  • New space saving, enhanced high current density bridge (BU) package offers more efficient performance when compared to larger size bridge products
  • Low thermal resistance reduces heat generation and the need for heat sinks compared to larger size bridge products with similar power ratings
  • Compatible package, lead pitch and pin layout to conventional GBU package
  • Saves time by eliminating the need to change the PCB layout and heat sink when system power is increased
  • +260°C, 40 second solder dipping process enables high reliability in manual soldering
APPLICATIONS

Primary rectification circuits in
  • Switchmode power supplies for desktop PCs, servers, PDP TVs, LCD TVs, audio/video systems and adapters for notebook PCs and monitors
  • Power inverters in home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and induction heater systems
  • Primary rectification circuit of switchmode power supplies in telecommunication systems
