High Efficiency, RoHS-Compliant Ultraviolet (UV) LEDs with Increased Operational Life and Enhanced ESD Protection
Bivar’s new UVTZ series of UV LEDs represents
an expansion to our existing UV product
family. This new series addresses many of the
changing requirements in the UV LED market
today.
Available in the industry standard 3mm (UV3TZ)
and 5mm (UV5TZ) through-hole packages,
each series is comprised of four tightly binned
wavelengths with a wavelength tolerance of
±2.5nm. Both sizes are available with a narrow
15º and slightly wider 30º viewing angle.
OEMs will be particularly interested in the
dramatic increase in operational life of the UVTZ
series which offers an extended rated life
compared to other commercially available
devices. In addition, the new UVTZ series is
more efficient providing greater radiant flux
output while consuming less power. ESD
protection is enhanced by the integrated
zener diode.
These features, combined with high resistance to
shock and vibration over traditional fluorescent
and filament-based light sources, make Bivar’s
UVTZ series perfect for battery operated, handheld
or portable devices.
