Panasonic Electric Works Introduces a New
Line of PhotoMOS Relays.
The new SON* PhotoMOS series offers more than
a 50% size reduction compared to SSOP. Reduced
package size is ideal for high density mounting
with a footprint that is significantly less than
existing solutions.
Gold plated leads and side solder fillets are used
to ensure a strong solder joint. Ceramic construction
provides an extended shelf life according to
moisture sensitivity level (MSL) rating. MSL
indicates the maximum time period for assembling
SMD components after removal from moisture
sealed bags. SON corresponds to MSL 2 providing
a 1 year shelf life.
Advantages of Miniaturization
Leadless construction reduces mounting area and
optimizes board space usage. Benefits include increasing
the number of pins and equipment miniaturization.
Reduced wiring area on the board enhances
product performance and high frequency
characteristics.
